    Location Affected: Chicago, Ilinois - Path-Routed Prefixes

    Summary: GTT Communications, one of Path's DDoS protection providers in Chicago will be performing maintenance in their Chicago place of presence (PoP).

    Impact on Customers: We will move all prefixes routed over Path to our in house filtering appliances before this maintenance starts. Connection states are synced between the different locations, but there is always a possibility for disruptions to traffic when the route change occurs.

    Hello,

    Please refer to the following maintenance announcement that may effect your services.

    Services Affected:​ Chicago, Illinois - Budget VPS
    Start Date:​ May 30th, 2025
    Estimated End Date:​ May 30th, 2025

    Summary:​ We will be migrating IP addresses from our 45.8.201.0/24 block to 45.45.239.0/24. We apologize for the short notice, however we have over-allocated time to this maintenance just in case - we do not expect it to take the full time period allocated.

    Impact on Customer:​ We will be migrating the IP addresses per VPS on the hypervisor. Only VMs with an IP in the 45.8.201.0/24 block will be effected by this. The VPS panel will automatically update the OS information, if it fails please reach out to our support team and we will adjust the change on your end for you. You will be emailed your new IP address when your VM has been moved successfully.

    Summary: Following the network outage that occurred during the late evening of May 18th, we are performing emergency maintenance to implement preventative measures and improve infrastructure reliability.     All impacted services have been operational for 14+ hours now, thus we're confident this issue has been fully resolved. We will be providing a detailed post-mortem following this incident later this week after internal discussion.

    This marks the most widespread/impactful outage we've ever had as a company, therefor we want to be as transparent as possible to ensure our clients are fully aware of why & how this happened as well as what we've done to prevent this from occurring again.

    We sincerely apologize for any and all inconveniences caused by this incident.

    We are continuing to investigate route instability isolated to our Chicago location. The issue is stemming from communication inconsistencies between our edge routers at the spine layer. This is resulting in frequent route flapping and intermittent disruptions in traffic flow.

    Our network engineering team is working to re-balance route propagation and mitigate further impact. We'll continue to provide additional updates as soon as possible.

    Zayo has given us an estimated restoration time of 6:00 am CT. Upon restoration of our fiber ring (connection to 350 E Cermak and another connection to 427 La Salle), our additional carrier connections will restore themselves and alleviate congestion on existing on-net carrier connections from Comcast and Lumen. We will provide updates ASAP.

    We have complete confirmation that our Zayo fiber ring is completely broken. Runs from our West Chicago facility to 350 E Cermak and West Chicago to 427 La Salle St are offline. Only connections available are our on-net connections, but these are heavily congested due to the limited capacity that carriers have themselves, due to the fiber ring issues with Zayo.
